Special Subjects at the Early Education Center were established to enrich our students by providing them with a variety of creative classes led by teachers who have specific training in each area of study.
3k Christmas Program
Taught by certified music educator Emily Howat, our kindermusik class will follow the ABC Music and Me program. ABC Music and Me is a researched based program developed to enhance language, listening and social skills.
Jesus and Me
On Tuesday mornings, our entire EEC family joins together for Chapel led by Father Riggin. Following Chapel, Mrs. Mindy Inge expands on the Bible and character lessons we’ve learned through songs, stories and role play. Engaging with the lesson in a small group setting really helps the children to internalize the message of the day.
Nursery Rhymes are a large part of the early literacy curriculum at the EEC. We embrace one nursery rhyme every two weeks, our Tiny Saints build their vocabularies, learn basic components of literacy and have so much fun with each rhyme. During Rhyme Time, Mrs. Mindy Inge offers them the opportunity to learn hand motions and songs that accompany each nursery rhyme and to role play the characters as well. A highlight of the school year is Nursery Rhyme day where the children show off their favorite rhymes from the year.
Art is an every day activity at the Early Education Center and in art as a special subject, Paula Kiszla focuses specifically on exploring the creative process used in the masterpieces of famous artists. Children will have hands on opportunities to explore the techniques of Wayne Thiebaud, Mondrain, Van Gogh, Monet, Klee, and Seurat.
Our Tumble Time class offers an additional gross motor activity for our Tiny Saints. Taught by Emily Perloff, the goal of Tumble Time is to provide the children with an opportunity to experience many of the primary gymnastics apparatus as well as to increase coordination, build strength and practice essential gross motor skills all while having FUN!
